Terms of Service

The terms that apply to my residential electrical services and website.

Last updated: 14 June 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the provision of residential electrical services by BrightCore Electrical, a sole trader business operated by SUBAS TAMANG ("I", "me", "my"), to you, the customer ("you", "your"). They also govern your use of my website at https://brightcoreelectrical.uk. By engaging my services, requesting a quotation, making a payment, or using my website, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

These Terms are intended to be fair and clear. They explain what you can expect from me, what I expect from you, and how my residential electrical projects are arranged and delivered. If anything is unclear, please contact me before engaging my services.

1. About my business

BrightCore Electrical is an independent sole trader business. All work is carried out by, or under the direct responsibility of, SUBAS TAMANG. I provide residential electrical services to homeowners, including electrical safety reviews, lighting upgrades, socket and switch installations, consumer unit improvements, electrical fault investigation and bespoke residential electrical projects. I do not provide commercial or industrial electrical contracting, and I do not offer ongoing maintenance contracts.

2. Service scope

Every engagement covers a specific, defined scope of work. The scope is set out in the written quotation I provide before any work is scheduled. The scope describes the work I will carry out, the materials and components included where relevant, and any specific assumptions or exclusions. Work that falls outside the agreed scope is not included in the quoted price and would need to be agreed separately, with an adjusted quotation if appropriate.

All services are delivered as one-time residential electrical projects. Each project has a defined beginning and end, marked by the completion review. I do not provide rolling, recurring or open-ended services under these Terms.

3. Quotations

Following your enquiry, and where appropriate a property review, I prepare a written quotation. The quotation sets out the scope of work, the price and any relevant assumptions. Quotations are provided in good faith based on the information available to me at the time and, where applicable, on what I am able to observe during a property review.

A quotation is valid for the period stated within it, or for a reasonable period if no specific validity is stated. Prices may change if the scope of work changes, if the information provided to me proves inaccurate or incomplete, or if conditions are discovered during the work that could not reasonably have been identified beforehand. Where this happens, I will discuss the change with you and provide a revised quotation or estimate before continuing with the affected work wherever practical.

4. Project planning

For larger or more complex projects, I review the property and the existing electrical installation before preparing recommendations. This planning stage helps ensure that the proposed work is suitable for your property and that the quotation accurately reflects the requirements. You agree to provide accurate information about the property and the work you require, and to inform me of any known issues that may affect the work.

5. Scheduling

Once you accept a quotation, we agree a date and time for the work. I will make reasonable efforts to attend and complete the work at the scheduled time. However, scheduling may occasionally be affected by factors beyond my reasonable control, such as illness, severe weather, supply delays, or the overrun of a previous project. If I need to reschedule, I will contact you as soon as possible to arrange an alternative time.

If you need to change or cancel a scheduled appointment, please give me as much notice as possible. Cancellation and rescheduling are also addressed in my Refund Policy.

6. Customer responsibilities

To allow me to carry out the work safely and efficiently, you agree to:

  • Provide safe and reasonable access to the property and the areas where work is required at the agreed time.
  • Ensure that the relevant areas are reasonably clear and accessible before I arrive.
  • Provide accurate information about the property and the existing electrical installation.
  • Inform me of any known hazards, defects or issues that may affect the work.
  • Obtain any necessary permissions, such as those required where you do not own the property outright, before work begins.
  • Make payment in accordance with these Terms and the agreed quotation.

If access is not provided, or the necessary conditions are not in place when I attend, this may result in delays, rescheduling or additional charges to cover wasted time.

7. Installation and electrical work

I will carry out the agreed electrical work with reasonable care and skill, and to a professional standard. I will take reasonable steps to work safely and tidily and to minimise disruption to your home. Where the work requires components or materials, I will use products of suitable quality for the task as described in the quotation.

Some properties, particularly older ones, may contain existing wiring or installations that are not to current standards or that present unexpected challenges. If I identify issues during the work that affect safety or the agreed scope, I will pause where necessary, explain the situation to you, and discuss the options before proceeding with any additional work.

8. Completion review

Each project concludes with a completion review. During this review I confirm that the agreed work has been carried out, explain what has been done, and give you the opportunity to ask questions. The completion review marks the end of the project. If you identify any issue with the agreed work at the completion review or shortly afterwards, please raise it with me promptly so that I can address it.

9. Payments

Fixed-price packages may be paid securely online through a trusted third-party payment provider. Bespoke projects are quoted individually, and payment terms for such projects are set out in or alongside the written quotation. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due as specified in the quotation. I reserve the right to require payment, or a deposit, before scheduling or commencing certain work.

All prices are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP). You agree to make payment using the method and within the timeframe agreed. Late or non-payment may result in suspension of work and, where necessary, recovery of outstanding sums.

10. No recurring billing

All services are provided as one-time residential electrical projects. BrightCore Electrical does not offer subscriptions, recurring billing arrangements, maintenance memberships, or ongoing service contracts. You will not be enrolled in any automatic or repeating payment by engaging my services. Any future work you require will be treated as a new, separately quoted project.

11. Liability limitations

I take care to carry out work to a professional standard. To the extent permitted by law, my total liability arising out of or in connection with a project is limited to the value of the fees paid for that project. I am not liable for indirect, consequential or special losses, or for loss of profit, loss of business or loss of opportunity.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by these Terms.

I am not responsible for pre-existing faults or defects in the property's wiring or installation that fall outside the agreed scope of work, nor for issues arising from the actions of others, including work carried out by other parties before or after my involvement.

12. Warranties and standards

I provide my services with reasonable care and skill as required by consumer law. Where a manufacturer's warranty applies to components or products supplied as part of a project, that warranty is provided by the manufacturer and is subject to its own terms. If you believe there is a defect in the workmanship of the agreed work, please contact me promptly so that I can investigate and, where appropriate, remedy the issue.

13. Dispute resolution

If you are unhappy with any aspect of my service, I would always prefer to resolve the matter directly and amicably. Please contact me as soon as possible so that I can understand your concerns and work towards a fair resolution. My Complaints Policy explains the process I follow. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, both parties retain their legal rights, and these Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, with the courts of England and Wales having jurisdiction.

14. Force majeure

I am not liable for any failure or delay in performing my obligations where this is caused by events beyond my reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, illness, accidents, supply chain disruption, or other unforeseen circumstances. Where such an event occurs, I will contact you to make alternative arrangements.

15. Use of the website

The content of my website is provided for general information about my services. While I take care to keep the information accurate and up to date, I do not warrant that it is complete or error-free, and the content does not constitute professional advice for your specific situation. You agree not to misuse the website or attempt to interfere with its operation.

16. Intellectual property

The content, design and materials on my website are owned by or licensed to me and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may view and use the website for the purpose of learning about and engaging my services, but you may not copy, reproduce or redistribute the content without my permission.

17. Changes to these Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time you accept a quotation will apply to that project. Continued use of my website following any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.

19. Materials and components

Where a project requires materials, fittings or components, I select products that are suitable and of appropriate quality for the work described in the quotation. If you have a particular brand, finish or specification in mind, please tell me at the enquiry stage so it can be reflected in the quotation. Once specific materials have been ordered for your project, they may not be cancellable or returnable, and this is taken into account in the Refund Policy.

20. Access and working conditions

Safe and reasonable access to the working areas is essential for the work to proceed. You agree to ensure that pets are kept safely away from working areas, that fragile or valuable items are moved or protected where appropriate, and that I can reach the relevant circuits, fittings and the consumer unit. If working conditions are unsafe or unsuitable, I may need to pause the work until they can be made safe, and any resulting delay is not my responsibility.

21. Variations and additional work

If, during a project, you request changes to the scope of work, or if additional work becomes necessary, the change will be treated as a variation. I will, where practical, discuss the variation with you and agree any change to the price and timescale before carrying out the additional work. Variations may affect the completion date and the final amount payable.

22. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. These Terms, together with the written quotation and any specific terms agreed in writing for a project, form the entire agreement between us in relation to that project and supersede any prior discussions or representations.
